The Naye sheepfold

We work as a family, and are the first generation of shepherd-breeders, a profession that there are very few of in the region. We breed rare indigenous breeds of sheep and goats, adapted to the conditions and lifestyle of the mountains, which we look after with passion and respect.

The story of our sheepfold began with Damien Jeannerat, who, as a landscape gardener, was approached to look after some unused plots of land. Seeing all that mown grass, he wanted to take on some animals, to avoid wastage. Eventually, what started with a few goats and sheep developed into a full-time job with no fewer than 400 sheep, 120 goats, 6 horses and 3 cows, as well as herd protection dogs.

Thanks to the local aspect and our traditional way of doing things, we try to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. Through our products, we seek to provide the morality and satisfaction of offering products that are not only of high quality, but with the certainty that they respect animals, and that they support a family business.
