Castle of Réchy

The Château de Réchy is a seigniorial residence that dates back to the beginning of the 16th century. The association of the Friends of the Castle of Réchy bought it for a symbolic franc, renovated it with great care, in coordination with the Service of historical monuments of the canton of Valais and inaugurated it on November 10, 2010 in its new finery.

The Château de Réchy can easily accommodate six people. The kitchen and sanitary facilities are equipped with modern appliances. The house has a spacious bedroom, two smaller bedrooms separated by a simple wall, and a very bright living room. The entrance to the castle is via a spiral staircase, which climbs from the basement to the roof. Its stone steps are of different heights: the higher you go, the closer they are. It gives access to the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom and the bedrooms, which are located on separate half floors.
The Château de Réchy is a historical building, a monument. As the old interior layout has been largely preserved, the house has some pitfalls, although it conforms to modern technical standards, such as floors worn over the centuries, high thresholds or low door heights.
